Vintage Eagle Kazak Kilim – Purple
Originating from the Caucasus mountains in the southeat region, bordering Persia, the Eagle Kazak rugs and kilims were regarded as some of the finer collectible rugs. Although vegetable dyeing was dwindling by the early 20th century, the tribal nomads with little access to chemical dyes, continued to produce some spectacular pieces.

Description
The beauty and distinctive feature of an Eagle Kazak is the representation of the symbol which for some denotes the bird itself, but according to many other carpet experts, this was most likely the tribes interpretation of a sunburst. This symbollism can also be rooted back to the Zoroastrian religion traditional to this area. It’s unique depiction guides us to its origin, the colors to its age and the general beauty, to its adoption.
