Kashan is situated on the edge of the desert, in the eastern Zagros mountains and experiences intense heat, winds and sunlight. To counter the surroundings, most Kashan rugs display utopian beauty with gardens consisting of palmettes, tulips, rosettes, vines, scrolls and sometimes animals as well.

Description
Since the Safavid dynasty, the region of Kashan was a major centre for silk production and some of the finest Persian Silk rugs were made here. Gradually, the master weavers started to create wool rugs and their expertise was well represented. The clarity of pattern is only made possible by the high knotting and exceptional wool, making these highly unique and popular with collectors.
