Product Details
The Kani Jamewar shawls were created in Kashmir in the early 20th century, primarily for the European markets. The trend began during the british reign and such shawls reached their epitome in the later 1800’s, but the franco-prussian war and the famine in Kashmir destroyed the flourishing industry. It’s revival has been slow yet encouraging as some of the more spectacular pieces were created in this era.
