Sarouk was a weaving region in Central Persia, renowned in the 19th-century for its high quality, artistically distinctive carpets. Sarouk rugs have a distinctive deep rich pile and its highly luminous wool has a unique silken quality. Its luster illuminates the Sarouk’s natural dyes, adding tremendous depth and character to the magnificent pieces. This particular piece is a recreation of an antique Sarouk and retains its color and material components.

Product Details

These spectacular oriental carpets are highly sought after in Europe, as much for their grandeur and fine craftsmanship as for the plush pile and bright color choices. The design patterns range from central medallions to all over floral patterns. A Sarouk is easily identifiable by the shades of madder dye used as well as the balance between pattern and positive space.
