The Kazak Flatweave Carpet is a bold and enduring expression of Caucasian tribal design. Originating in the historic Kazak region of the South Caucasus (near present-day Gazakh and extending toward Tbilisi), these textiles are distinguished by their strong geometry, saturated colour, and practical construction. Unlike knotted carpets, Kazak flatweaves are created through interlacing warp and weft threads, producing a surface that is smooth, lightweight, and reversible. This method yields a textile of striking simplicity and remarkable durability.
