Price available on request

Isfahan carpets come from the famous city of Isfahan which is located in the centre of Iran at the foothills of the Zagros mountain range. The rugs woven in this city are perhaps the best and the most valuable in the world. Isfahan rugs are made out of the most exquisite soft kurk wool, often with silk details or foundations and with a very tightly woven pile.

Product Details

Isfahan was established as a centre for art and culture by the Safavid dynasty in the 17th century. It was very well known for its architecture and Persian rug making. The design aesthetics had inspirations from mosiac work to bookbinding to inlay. Many rugs displayed centralized medallion compositions filled with lush arabesque ornament produced with the greatest intricacy and precision.
