With exquisitly intricate patterns and extremely fine knotting, the Dabeer Kashan rugs were labeled as some of the best specimens of carpet weaving from Persia. Dabeer is the workshop where these pieces were created and Kashan, the most famous region in Persia for carpet production.This particular antique rug dates back to the early 19th century and is a fine example of the highest quality persian weaving.

Description

Since the Safavid dynasty, the region of Kashan was a major centre for silk production and some of the finest Persian Silk rugs were made here. Gradually, the master weavers started to create wool rugs and their expertise was well represented. Although the carpets usually take their name from the region they are produced in, some exceptional ones created by master weavers, were identified by the weavers name as well. Dabeer being amongst them.
