This particular Gold Banarasi Zari Odhani or Chunni is an antique piece created sometime in the early 20th century. This is a 'Saccha Kaam' or pure gold threadwork, which has been used to create this exquisite piece. Colors such as light blue and pink bring out the beautiful thread work and brighten up this piece. The Odhani was traditionally used by women as a wrap and to cover their heads, thus the length and width of this textile is longer than normal chunnis. This kind of work is no longer available and thus is a prized piece.
