Description

The Turkmen tribes along with the Uzbeks and tajiks created the Bukhara carpets and flatweaves, however, the name spread far beyond this region as many of these floor coverings reached the western markets through Bukhara. The city thus managed to capitalise on its name and the patterns seen in many Bukhara’s are from a much larger region. The deep reds and maroons along with multiple borders and tribal motifs are associated with these kilims.
