A Berber carpet is a style of carpet characterized by its looped pile construction. Berberis also the name of an ethnic group, inhabiting the North African regions of Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia. These rugs were created traditionally for self use by the Berber people. However, they became extremely popular thanks to their distinctive appearance, which features a tight, looped pile that creates a textured and patterned surface.
