Indo Shiraz Flatweave – Ram Horn
These flat woven Shiraz Kilims are inpired by the Persian pattern but woven in India using the traditional nomadic techniques. This particular flatweave has the symbol of a ram horn interspersed all over. In many cultures, a ram horn was used as a wind instrument that was blown by men to summon people together.

Description
As a motif, the ram horn represents masculinity, power, fertility and heroism. As the indian artisans recreate the patterns from the original Shiraz kilims, there is always an element of local traditions that gets added to the creation. It is this movement of design and pattern which has augmented the evolution and relevance of the carpet industry.
