The town of Lilihan, which lies in the Arak Province of Iran was well known for its rug production in the 18th and early 19th century and the carpets that were made in the region took their name from the town. The ornate designs of Lilihan rugs combined with their thick, plush pile fit very well modern and contemporary interiors. The use of pink and lighter hues are also a welcome change from the traditional maroons and blues of other Persian rugs.
