The vertical axis of three stepped medallions is another one of three most prolific designs that the Afshar weavers use in their creations. The use of madder dye along with indigo gives this antique piece a distinct character. The motifs vary for each border and with a total of 6 borders, this carpet is a stunning example of workmanship and technique.
