Moroccan rugs have an interesting history in the tribes that first introduced them. Made in higher altitudes, the tribal patterns with looser knots were versatile pieces which could be used as plush floor coverings where the ground was severely hard. The pattern inspirations range from Beni ourain to berber to the flatweave, however, the essence of these carpets has not changed drastically. The Carpet Cellars range uses simple geometric and sparse tribal patterns with high quality merino wool and even tone colours for a sturdy and appealing look.
