The Tekke tribe, a part of the larger Turkoman tribes was known for its prolific artisans and weavers. Their weaving skills were far more refined than many other tribes and the variety of items that were produced by them was unmatched. The use of the asymmetric knot is a well-established trait of the Tekke tribe. Mostly geometric, the patterns and designs include octagons, stars and the infamous Gurbaghe Gul pattern.
