Safavid carpets are distinguished by a palette of profound richness. Deep indigo, luminous ivory, warm madder red, soft celadon, and accents of gold or sapphire are layered with careful modulation. These colours evoke the mineral glazes, tiled domes, and painted manuscripts of Safavid Persia. It is typically hand-knotted using fine wool, selected for its softness, resilience, and receptivity to dye. The pile is carefully sheared to an even height, producing a surface that is smooth yet substantial underfoot. The texture reflects the discipline of the weaving process and the intention to create a textile of enduring refinement.
